post session

Really amazing volume today, I was so happy with it. Played less hours than I was supposed to because I slept badly and had to sleep in, but I still got to play a lot of games.

I also think I ran really good today, which is also nice. Hopefully this week ends up being a good one to make up for the rest of the month!

Just wanted to chime in with some support. Sounds like you’re fighting the tilt pretty avidly lately. I am a little surprised to hear it. I just assumed that you were so much more awesome than me in every way! πŸ™‚ As if I don’t tilt. πŸ™‚

I don’t want to sound like I know you at all, so grain of salt if this is off base.

I know that when emotional weirdness that I can’t control is creeping into my life, it’s usually a sign of deficiency in one of 3 things:
    1) Good nutrition
    2) Good activity
    3) Good sleep

When I have those 3 covered (usually it’s 2 that I have to force myself to do), I can control my emotions (or at least keep them from controlling me).

Again, if this is nonsense to you, just understand that it comes with only positive intentions.

May you only tilt when you know you could have gotten more value from a hand.

Helpful and thoughtful comments are never nonsense πŸ™‚ Thank you for taking the time to write it!

I wish I were awesome enough to not tilt, but I’m definitely not. I work and struggle with it every day, and I’m slowly learning what brings the worst out of me. I’m working to improve my mental game as much as possible, but I’m also learning that it’s a slow process.

As for your suggestions, I think they’re good ones. They’re definitely necessary for poker players to have so that their lives are balanced. For the most part I do all 3 of them fairly well, assuming that “good activity” means exercising. As with most things there is always room for improvement, but I’m pretty happy with my overall balance.

I’d say that the thing I am worst at is managing my time, which is the main thing I’m working on this year! Aside from improving mental game, of course.
